Research & Evaluation Specialist

The word that sums up my hope for the YouthREX project is ENGAGEMENT

My past experiences with youth, youth organizing and community engagement
I am a doctoral student at the University of Ottawa where my research focus is in positive youth development, and specifically, the development, implementation, and evaluation of youth programs, with a particular focus on sport and physical activity. I have several years of experience in conducting process and outcome evaluations and working with community-based youth organizations to build capacity around youth programming. Moreover, I have worked with two national sport organizations in the development and evaluation of various programs, including a training program for youth golf instructors to build their capacity around teaching life skills through sport. Although I have always been actively involved in my community and particularly with youth, developing expertise in positive youth development and community programming has afforded even more opportunities for community engagement with various not-for-profit and grassroots youth organizations. I look forward to continuing to expand these relationships throughout my work with YouthREX.

What excites me the most
I am very excited to be part of a team in which all staff have diverse areas of expertise within the field of program evaluation and youth development. Together, we will work with grassroots stakeholders to build capacity within the youth sector in support of well-being of youth across Ontario.
