Amanda will begin her Master of Social Work studies this September at McMaster University, with a mental health and research focus. She previously attended York University for undergraduate studies, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Social Work.

 

She is currently Chair of Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO)’s Youth Action Committee – a province-wide advisory group that represents the mental health interests and needs of Ontario’s young people. She has worked as a BSW placement student at Victim Services York Region, as well as a summer student at Family Service Toronto. In addition, she has been a Research Assistant at The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and The Opportunities to Understand Childhood Hurt (O.U.C.H.) Lab at York University, assisting with projects that look at the relationship between mental and physical health/wellbeing. She plans to continue combining her passion for research, mental health, and community work in future endeavors.
