Reality leaves a lot to the imagination. – John Lennon

Aumkaaran is heading into his fourth year of a Bachelor of Science with a Biology Specialization at the University of Western Ontario. In the past two years he has enjoyed working at different summer camps and learning from his experiences working with youth. His goals are to continue being a role model for younger youth and widening his understanding in improving the success of youth of all ages. Aumkaaran currently works with international students, aged 12-17, at CISS St. Michael’s. These students are learning English while also enjoying what different tourist attractions Ontario has to offer. Last summer Aumkaaran worked at a day camp with children aged 8-13, that involved different field trips and exposing them to wide arrange of physical activities and arts and crafts. He also took part in organizing a soccer program for youth in the Erin Mills area that featured practices, full games, and sponsorships. All in all, he has enjoyed his work experiences and looks to take his work with youth to the next step by being part of the YouthREX council. His future goals are to pursue work in medicine or physiotherapy, but also to contribute more and more to different urban communities.
