Don’t you ever forget it against even your flesh and blood, against even yourself that mind of yours, the mind that guards the wavering light in your eyes. That compass is never wrong. – Sungkyunkwan Scandal (Korean drama)

Over the last several years, Daisy has pursued opportunities to interact and build relationships with people of all ages and from diverse walks of life through an array of volunteer experiences in the non-profit sector, ranging from engaging in deep conversations with strangers on the streets to teaching English to less fortunate youth in China. In this time (and with the support of numerous informal mentors along the way), her Myers-Briggs results shifted from a strong ‘I’ to a moderate ‘E’ as she discovered her love for working with the youth demographic.

More recently, after following her gut instinct, Daisy joined The School for Social Entrepreneurs as a student and also a volunteer with several local initiatives. She runs a peer support group for young job seekers and seeks out ways in which to smooth the transition from post secondary school to the workplace, both for fellow recent graduates and the graduates to come.

In the near future, Daisy would love to work in the area of social research, particularly in the areas of bridging gaps of understanding and empathy between disparate socioeconomic classes living in one city and in developing a deeper understanding of the kinds of catalysts that consistently spark social change.

Daisy is excited to have the opportunity to contribute to YouthREX’s vision and collaborating with both the youth-serving sector and fellow youth for a better collective future!
