Fonna Seidu

Member, Youth Advisory Council

Today is the oldest you’ve ever been and the youngest you’ll ever be again – Eleanor Roosevelt

Fonna burst into the youth community arts sector while she was balancing various volunteer roles with the York United Black Students’ Alliance (YUBSA), Centre for Women and Trans People at York CCWTP) and The People Project. In her final year of her B.A. in Psychology, Fonna officially entered the non profit world as a Youth Outreach Worker for the AYNU Collaborative and a Workshop Facilitator with Empower Youth. She was required to build networks amongst youth-serving organizations and provide tools for people of all ages to live and work in safer equitable spaces.

Fonna is in a point of transition where she looks forward to (1) improving her portrait photography skills to archive her communities in creative ways; (2) opportunities to learn at conferences across the globe; (3) use collective impact strategies to bridge non-profit and institutional worlds in meaningful working relationships.
