This webinar was hosted by YouthREX.

HERE’S HOW THE HOSTS DESCRIBE THIS WEBINAR:

What are ways you connect with the land? How does connection to land improve your holistic health? How can those who work in the youth sector start connecting to the land as part of their practice?

This conversation featured an Anishinaabe Elder (Martina Osawamick from Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory), a health promoter using land-based approaches with youth (Jordan Assinewe from Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation), and a youth who is connected to the land (Taryn Bobiwash from Serpent River First Nation). They shared their teachings, lived experiences, and strategies to connect with the land for improved holistic health.

This webinar is geared towards all audiences (youth, government, Indigenous, academia) who work in or with the youth sector, and was facilitated by Dr. Joey-Lynn Wabie and Michelle-Lynn Kennedy, MIR, OCT. Joey-Lynn is Assistant Professor, School of Indigenous Relations, Laurentian University, and a member of YouthREX’s Academic Network and Director of Indigenous Initiatives. Michelle-Lynn is also a Research Assistant with YouthREX.
