Participate in Wavemakers, a first-of-its-kind national work-integrated learning program on a virtual-reality campus.
This isn’t a typical online certification or networking group. Wavemakers wants every Canadian student to have the same opportunities to connect with actively recruiting employers. The Wavemakers journey blends expert-led sessions, a hands-on team project, and a virtual career fair. Students will interact with employers from multiple sectors including technology, financial services, health care, engineering, manufacturing, research, legal, supply chain, community-building, and more.
The program removes as many barriers as possible to empower students to future-proof their skills. For example, there’s no charge. In fact, students in the program automatically qualify for $250 in financial support to use to help them learn. The stipend can be used for anything from updating their computer and paying for WIFI to getting childcare.
Focused on diversity and inclusion, and funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Innovative Work Integrated Learning Program, Wavemakers is the ONLY work-integrated learning program accessible to all Canadian post-secondary students, wherever they are. It uses cutting-edge technologies to connect diverse students with world-class experts and critical employer networks.
Throughout the eight-week program, students will learn from industry leaders about the technologies and mindsets needed to thrive in the future of work.
