Job Opportunities with the Toronto Community Crisis Service

The City of Toronto is currently developing the long-awaited community-led mental-health crisis- support teams. This is the first project of its kind in Ontario, where mental health clinicians will be an option as the first response to crisis in the community. Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Toronto will be one of the anchor agencies for this pilot.

This pilot was created out of the growing concern of police response experienced by individuals who are dealing with a mental health crisis, and especially those that identify as Black, Indigenous, and various other equity seeking groups.

The team at CMHA Toronto branch will consist of nurses, peer support workers, and addiction specialists. In addition, Black and Indigenous identifying crisis workers will be cornerstone members of this new team.
