Apply: Black Youth Fellowship 2024

Urban Alliance on Race Relations

The Black Youth Fellowship is a political and professional skill building program that provides Black youth located in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with a 12-week paid placement with Toronto City Council between Mid-January to Mid-April 2025.

Fellows will work alongside elected officials and City of Toronto staff to gain exposure to various areas of politics through research, advocacy, communications, policy development, and case work.

Eligibility: 
  • Black youth between the ages of 18-30
  • Demonstrated sustained civic engagement
  • Involvement in Black community improvement or development
  • An understanding of civic issues faced by the Black Canadian community and the Canadian community at large
  • Flexible weekday availability for the duration of the placement (Mid-January to Mid-April 2025) for 8-12 hours per week
  • Eligible to work in Canada between Mid-January to Mid-April 2025
Applications are due by Wednesday, September 25th 2024 at 11:59pm EST.
