10 Week Paid Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Brook Restoration 2024-2024 Pre-Apprenticeship Program is open now! They offer a 10 Week Paid Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program: 2 weeks of training and certification, 8 weeks of placement. The in-class and hands-on training Program includes training, toolkit & certifications.

Brook is offering 150 young adults (ages 16-29) a 10-week paid Pre-Apprenticeship Program that will provide insightful training and work experience in construction. The program is targeted towards individuals in at-risk communities, people experiencing homelessness, community housing residents, marginalized/racialized groups and new comers to Canada. The pre-apprenticeship program offers participants an introduction to many aspects of the construction trades, focusing on general building techniques, working with power tools, using different products in construction, and an introduction to the overall building envelope restoration and construction.

Each participant is eligible to receive full time employment within Brook Restoration at the end of the program. The high-level objective of this program is to provide marginalized young adults access to the tools and knowledge that will equip them with the skills to pursue a sustainable career in the construction industry.

APPLICATION CRITERIA:

• Applicants must be aged 16 – 29 and reside in the Greater Toronto Area.

• Applicants must be able to lift at least 50lbs

• Applicants must be highly motivated individuals with a willingness to learn and adopt time management skills as expected of the construction industry

• Applicant must be available for the full duration of the 10 week training.
