Women’s Health in Women’s Hands and Regent Park Community CentreAre you a young Black woman aged 16 to 25 with a passion for reading, a love for Black literature, or a desire to connect with others through storytelling? Women’s Health in Women’s Hands, in collaboration with Regent Park Community Centre, invites you to join the Her Stories Bookclub.
Who Should Join?
Youth aged 16–25 who identify as African, Caribbean, and/or Black women.
Program Format:
- Weekly virtual meetings via Zoom (Fridays or Saturdays)
- In-person meet-up at the end of the month (with a meal provided)
July Book Selection: Yinka, Where is Your Huzband? by Lizzie Damilola Blackburn
Key Dates:
- Introduction Meeting: Friday, July 4 (7:00–8:00 PM) on Zoom
- Discussion Sessions: Saturdays – July 12, 19, and 26 (between 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM) on Zoom
- Final in-person meeting: Date and details TBD
Participants Will Receive:
- A complimentary copy of the monthly book (pickup in Toronto)
- TTC tokens
- A group lunch, dinner, or outing
- Networking opportunities with peers
Application Deadline: June 27, 2025, or until all spaces are filled. Spots are limited and all applicants must complete an intake interview.
