Upcoming 2024 Youth Summit for Mother Earth

Ontario Nature

The 2024 Youth Summit for Mother Earth is now open for registration! This in-person, cross-cultural event is planned and hosted by Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth leaders from across Ontario. This event is part of the Youth Circle for Mother Earth (YCME), which is run in collaboration with four partners: Ontario Nature, the Indigenous Environmental Institute at Trent University, Plenty Canada and Walpole Island Land Trust. Every year, Ontario Nature hosts a summit (Youth Summit for Mother Earth) for youth ages 14-20 who are passionate about conservation and community action, looking for an opportunity to meet like-minded youth across Ontario.

  • The Youth Summit for Mother Earth will be held September 13-15, 2024 at Tawingo Outdoor Centre on the traditional territory of the Ojibway, the Chippewa, the Algonquin and the Odawa. Today, this area is home to three sovereign nations: Wahta Mohawks First Nations, Moose Deer Point First Nation and the Moon River Métis. Tawingo Outdoor Centre is located on what is now known as Huntsville.
  • Run for youth by youth, the 2024 Youth Summit for Mother Earth will offer a unique cross-cultural event with opportunities for young Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders to connect, participate in educational workshops, and take part in a weekend of outdoor fun and learning. The event is hosted in partnership with Ontario Nature, the Indigenous Environmental Institute at Trent University, Plenty Canada and Walpole Island Land Trust.
  • This event is for youth residing in Ontario in September 2024. Youth participants range from 14 to 20 years of age and come from diverse communities across Ontario. We are expecting to host approximately 90 youth in-person this year.
