Mapping the Mentoring Gap

HERE’S HOW THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE THIS REPORT:
In 2019, shortly after MENTOR Canada was created, we undertook a comprehensive research project about the state of youth mentoring in Canada. Our goal was to gather information that MENTOR Canada, and the youth mentoring sector more broadly, could use to guide our efforts to build sector capacity and, ultimately, increase young people’s access to quality mentoring opportunities.
This study, the first in the series, seeks to understand young people’s access to mentors and the barriers to accessing mentors they may have encountered during their childhood and adolescence. The study also explores young people’s experiences of mentoring and the effect of having had a mentor on their current lives.
