Atlas: Your Guide to Navigating the Child Welfare System

StepStones for Youth, in collaboration with Delta Family Resource Centre, will be hosting Atlas: Your Guide to Navigating the Child Welfare System, a community resource fair. Atlas will provide an opportunity for foster, kinship, youth transitioning out of care, and biological families to gain knowledge of and access to local community resources explicitly supporting children and youth in and from care. Those with child welfare involvement deserve to understand their rights, responsibilities, and resources within the community to strengthen their confidence, while navigating a system that has long-lasting impacts.

Location: Metro Hall; 55 John Street, Toronto

Time: The community can pop by anytime between 12-8 PM.

Various organizations across Toronto that specialize in supporting those involved with child welfare will be present to share with you their programs, services, and available resources. We encourage you to come out, ask questions, and engage with the community who may share similar lived experiences. Enjoy your time eating lunch, listening to our DJ, taking pictures at our photo booth, and enjoying the variety of games and activities at each table.

Grocery gift cards, lunch, swag bags, and TTC tickets will all be provided to registered participants who attend. We hope that your attendance strengthens your confidence in advocating for yourself and your family while connecting you to various supports across the city. The organizations in attendance are coming together to support YOU and we look forward to meeting everyone for a day filled with networking, fun, and empowerment.
