Access Alliance is inviting community members, practitioners, researchers, and partners to attend its Annual Community-Based Research Retreat Day on May 20, 2026. This year’s theme is Advancing Health Equity: Strengthening Attachment Readiness and Systems of Care, and Improving Mental Health Outcomes for Black Children and Youth Community Members.
The day will begin with a keynote address by Sarah Hobbs titled Bridging the Gap: A Multi-Level Analysis of Rapid Primary Care Attachment Readiness. Additional presenters and a panel discussion will explore what successful attachment readiness looks like through health equity frameworks and access in community health centres.
In the afternoon, attendees will participate in a World Café discussion focused on Black children and youth mental health. Conversations will examine structural barriers, including policy and cost challenges, while identifying intersectoral opportunities for early intervention.
