Black Leadership and Recognition Breakfast Event Awards: Youth Leadership

Federation of Black Canadians & UWGT

In partnership with United Way Greater Toronto (UWGT), the Federation of Black Canadians is relaunching the Black Leadership and Recognition Breakfast Event (BLRBE) Awards. This long-standing tradition provides a platform to:

  • Create opportunities to pay homage to and recognize members of the Black community who might not otherwise be acknowledged;
  • Learn about people and groups doing great work in the Black community.

United Way has announced the return of the BLRBE to take place in person on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 9:30AM to 11:30AM. Now is your time to nominate someone you feel is making significant contributions to the Black community in York, Peel, and or Toronto, and is deserving of one of our three prestigious awards: Community Leadership, Youth Leadership, and Leadership in Business.

The Youth Leadership Award aims to honour an emerging young leader between the ages of 18-29 years from the Black community. Nominees should embody the mission and values of the United Way of Greater Toronto and the Federation of Black Canadians. Exceptional candidates will demonstrate outstanding civic leadership through unwavering loyalty and commitment to the success of specific projects in the Black community, particularly those relevant to youth. They should have also encouraged and motivated others to take on leadership roles to create lasting change at the local level.

Nominations are open from December 6, 2023, to December 24, 2023, at 11:59PM.
