Urban Alliance on Race RelationsThe Urban Alliance on Race Relations (UARR) is accepting application for their Black Youth Fellowship 2024-25 Cohort!
The Black Youth Fellowship (BYF) is a professional and leadership development program focusing on building the next generation of Black public servants – providing training, mentorship, paid internship, and an opportunity to get involved in their community. It will include intensive training and mentoring, complemented by a 12-week placement in the office of a Member of Council from mid-January to mid-April 2025.
Eligibility:
- Black youth between the ages of 18-30
- Demonstrated sustained civic engagement
- Involvement in Black community improvement or development
- An understanding of civic issues faced by the Black Canadian community and the Canadian community at large
- Flexible weekday availability for the duration of the placement (Mid-January to Mid-April 2025) for 8-12 hours per week
- Eligible to work in Canada between Mid-January to Mid-April 2025
Note: Applicants must be 18-30 years of age and reside in Toronto to apply or have reliable transportation to and from their in-person placement.
