Disrupting Child Welfare Narratives: Finding a North Star for Children and Families in Ontario
Defence For Children International - CanadaModerated by Irwin Elman, President of Defence For Children International-Canada – in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), Away Home Canada, and the Ontario Autism Coalition – this bold and hopeful conversation will explore what a fundamentally different system would look like to provide for the needs and desires of children and families.
The conversation will feature the Representative for Children and Youth of British Columbia, Jennifer Charelsworth (whose report, Don’t Look Away, has inspired the vision to create a North Star for Ontario), Kiaras Gharabaghi, Dean of Community Services at TMU, and Dr. Laura Mae Lindo, Professor of Black Studies at the University of Waterloo.
