Girls Belong Here

If you self-identify as a girl, woman or gender-expansive individual between the ages of 14 and 24, this is an exciting leadership opportunity to develop your advocacy skills, learn about gender justice, and collaborate with decision makers to drive change.

Plan International Canada’s Girls Belong Here program offers young people the chance to step into leadership roles across various sectors, including civil-society organizations, corporate Canada, Parliament, and more. Participants will exchange knowledge and ideas with leaders in their paired organizations. This program is part of a global movement to amplify the voices of those facing gender-based discrimination (including girls, women and gender-expansive individuals) and advocate for their rights and societal positions.

The Girls Belong Here program will take place around International Women’s Day in March 2025. Please note that the experience will occur on weekdays during working hours, which may require missing work or school. Plan International Canada can provide support letters to your school or employer.

Apply by November 5, 2024; selected applicants will be notified in December 2024.
