Environmental Leadership CanadaThe Parliamentary Internship for the Environment (PIE) program is now accepting applications. It offers young environmental leaders aged 18-30 the opportunity to gain paid, full-time experience on Parliament Hill. Interns will work closely with Parliamentarians from all national parties and engage in environmental policymaking while receiving a $30,000 stipend.
This initiative is open to youth from all backgrounds, with no prior political experience required. Interns will also develop their leadership skills through workshops, conferences, fireside chats, and inter-jurisdictional travel.
Program Details:
- Open to young environmental leaders aged 18-30 across Canada
- Full-time, 10-month paid internship ($30,000 CAD stipend)
- Hands-on experience in Parliament and policymaking
- Two specialized streams are available:
- Food Systems & Sustainable Agriculture Stream (priority for Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba applicants)
- Indigenous Stream (open to self-identified First Nations, Métis, and Inuit applicants)
- Runs from September 2025 – June 2026
