No matter what terms a person uses to describe their identities, we all possess the following four components of human identity: Gender Identity, Gender Expression, Attraction, and Assigned Sex. This includes people who do not identify as 2SLGBTQI. The Genderbread Person is a helpful visual tool for understanding these components.
In international human rights work, you may have heard these components described as SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics).
This is a friendly infographic that visually represents these four components of human identity. The terms associated with each category are ever evolving.
