Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA) Youth Focus Group

Black Agency Network & CYFSA 2017 Review

The Black Agency Network (BAN) and the Ontario government’s Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA) 2017 Review want to hear from Black/biracial youth involved with the child welfare system to be able to make changes to CYFSA and improve services.

What is CYFSA about? CYFSA is an Ontario Law that sets out the rules for the child welfare system as well as other programs and services for children, youth and their families. The Ontario government reviews CYFSA every 5 years and wants to hear from service users, such as you!

We invite you to join us for food and a discussion on what changes are needed in the CYFSA to improve the lives of youth in the child welfare system. We also want to hear from you about how we can improve access to culturally relevant services for Black youth in the child welfare system.
