Share Your Story. Shape the Future of Youth Justice.
University of OttawaResearchers from the University of Ottawa are seeking young people to participate in a study exploring experiences within Ontario’s youth justice system.
Who Can Participate?
- Young people aged 12–30
- Individuals who have spent time in a youth custody or detention facility in Ontario
- Individuals who are no longer incarcerated (including those on probation, bail, or other legal conditions)
- Interviews will be conducted in English
What’s Involved?
Participants will take part in a virtual interview (approximately 1–1.5 hours) to share their experiences and perspectives. Participants may also have opportunities to contribute to other aspects of the project, including developing interview questions, creating community materials, and sharing ideas for change.
Honorarium
Participants will receive $80 in recognition of their time and contributions.
This study aims to amplify the voices of young people with lived experience in the youth justice system and help inform future improvements to youth justice policies and practices.
