This factsheet was developed by YouthREX from a webinar featuring Sarah Andes (Generation Citizen), Ian Bingeman (Youth Ottawa), and YouthREX’s Lisa Barleben.

HERE’S HOW THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE THIS FACTSHEET:

During election cycles, many politicians actively pursue the youth vote because they know that the younger demographic (ages 18-24) typically has low voter turnout. While it is important to encourage young people to take part in the voting process, civic engagement extends far beyond the ballot box. This factsheet discusses how to build a successful civic engagement program for youth.
