Looking Beyond ‘Just Say No’

HERE’S HOW THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE THIS FACTSHEET:

Focusing on abstinence alone when exploring substance use amongst youth, known as the ‘just say no’ approach, may not work for everyone. This approach may contribute to increasing stigma, shame, and fear about the topic of substance use, instead of focusing on safety and well-being. Learn more about harm reduction, the practice of enabling youth to make healthy and informed choices, and the harm reduction messages related to cannabis use that promote awareness.
