While the pandemic is far from over, we recognize that 2SLGBTQIA+ youth have experienced an exceptional loss of community connection. 2SLGBTQIA+ youth have reported increased feelings of anxiety, frustration and loneliness.
It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since the people marched in celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities across Ontario. This June, we’re taking back the last three years and celebrating these communities’ resilience and strength. Now that we’re back together again, the celebrations are going to be magical! Celebrating 2SLGBTQIA+ communities is more than waving a rainbow flag or joining parades. It’s an ongoing commitment to empower and prioritize these groups in our everyday life. To empower communities, we must start with supporting youth and youth workers. Our staff have compiled an essential soundtrack in celebration of Pride Month “Queer Love Forever.” From Hip-hop to Techno, we put together songs by 2SLGBTQIA+ artists with a focus on racialized Canadian musicians.
