Child & Youth Mental Health Crisis + The Emergency Department: Using a Digital Health Solution

DIVERT Mental Health

DIVERT Mental Health is hosting another educational session in diverse ways of understanding mental health, and accessible ways for researching and providing inclusive mental health care using innovative digital/virtual technologies. Our goal is to break down the silos between sectors and change the way we develop, study, and provide mental health research and care to diverse populations.

Introducing HEARTSMAP: an emergency psychosocial assessment and management tool for children and youth. Originally developed by Dr. Quynh Doan and Dr. Tyler Black’s research team at the BC Children’s Hospital, the HEARTSMAP virtual tool is designed to support clinicians to conduct an efficient and comprehensive psychosocial evaluation for children and youth presenting with mental health concerns. This tool is now available for use by clinicians outside of BC and in community settings and families to use for their own psychosocial needs.
