HERE’S HOW THE CREATORS DESCRIBE THIS TOOLKIT:
MindKit provides informative, engaging and accessible web-based and downloadable information to young family members (aged 13-18) of Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). MindKit is created for and by youth who have loved ones who have served in either the CAF or RCMP. MindKit is a place to learn about mental health and the brain, what it’s like to live with posttraumatic stress injury (PTSI) in your family and different ways to handle challenges.
MindKit offers youth-friendly tools, interactive information and downloadable resources for young veteran family members to learn about and cope with a loved one’s PTSI, operational stress injury (OSI) or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as real-life stories from children of veterans who have gone through similar experiences.
This toolkit is available online.
