Youth Voices in Dialogue: Multivoiced Narratives of Power, Belonging, and Change
4 hours ago 4 hours agoThis webinar was hosted by YouthREX.
HERE’S HOW THE HOSTS DESCRIBE THIS WEBINAR:
How do young people make sense of injustice in their lives and communities? What can their stories teach us about resilience, belonging, and human potential in contexts of inequity?
In this webinar, Dr. Svetlana Jović shared insights from her research on socio-cognitive development among youth growing up in the midst of poverty, migration, and cultural diversity. Drawing on narrative and visual methods, including storytelling, photography, and mapping, Dr. Jović explored how young people “storied” their experiences and how shifting perspectives in narrative research uncovered voices that were often silenced.
Participants were invited to reflect on the power of multivoiced narratives for youth work practice, policy, and research, and to consider storytelling not only as a tool for understanding youth, but also as a resource for fostering equity and wellbeing.
